  • Happy Friday from TOVS Towers. Has it been hot enough for you?!

    Here’s our tops picks for the next week in telly…

    It’s the last in the currently series of Celebrity Crystal Maze. This hilarious run comes to an all-too-soon conclusion, but at least it ends with the best collection of celebrity contestants including Russell Kane & Steve Pemberton. That’s on Channel 4 at 8pm

    On the same channel at 9pm it’s a new series of 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown! Sean Lock and Miles Jupp take on Jon Richardson and Rose Matafeo, while Vic Reeves joins Susie Dent in Dictionary Corner. Hosted by Jimmy Carr. Looking forward to this one!

    Then on SATURDAY it’s…
    The Final of The Voice Kids. Emma Willis presents the junior version of the singing talent contest, giving youngsters a chance to achieve stardom. Tune in at 8pm on ITV. We’ve absolutely loved the series so far.

    Moving onto SUNDAY another new series…
    The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan. Rom visits Zimbabwe in the aftermath of Robert Mugabe's rule to discover whether British people should be holidaying in the southern African country. We can’t get enough of this show! That’s on BBC Two at 9pm.

    On the same channel at 10.30pm its Louis Theroux’s Altered States: Choosing Death. Promising to be one of his best films yet. Louis meets people in America taking control of the end of their lives.

    Finally on MONDAY it’s Love Island: The Grand Final! Caroline Flack oversees proceedings as the four remaining couples compete for viewers' votes in the hope of winning the £50,000 prize. That’s on ITV2 from 9pm.

    We are over the moon to announce that Chris Bentley has become a father! Baby Jack was born yesterday at 14:48 weighing 4.3 kilos. Yvonne is doing incredibly well and, as you can imagine, they are both besotted with their new son.

  • Phew. Another busy week finished here at TOVS Towers!
    Here is this week’s TOVS TV Times.

    First up TONIGHT it’s a new series of Celebrity Gogglebox on Channel 4 at 9pm. A whole new line-up of stars are set to become armchair critics with Oti Mabuse & Rylan Clark-Neal among those who’ll be sharing their views about what’s on the telly.

    Next up its The Graham Norton Show on BBC One at 10.40pm. This week pop superstar Madonna chats about her new album Madame X & upcoming shows at the London Palladium, while actor Ian McKellen talks to Graham about touring & turning 80!

    Then on SATURDAY it’s Piers Morgan’s Life Stories at ITV at 9.35pm. This episode features Harry Redknapp who talks about his life & career as one of the most respected & experienced football managers in the modern game, as well as his victorious I'm a Celebrity appearance. ‘Trific!

    SUNDAY sees the return of Top Gear on BBC One at 8pm. The newest recruits are Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff & Paddy McGuinness - a pairing which took viewers by surprise when it was announced last October. Looking forward to this one!

    & if all of that wasn’t enough on WEDNESDAY begins the new series of The Supervet: Noel Fitzpatrick on Channel 4 at 8pm. Pets from across the country receive cutting-edge care from the 'Bionic Vet', & his crack veterinary team.

    Straight afterwards at 9pm on Discovery it’s the new series of Massive Engineering Mistakes. With access to a panel of experts, this series analyses what went wrong with each building blunder & reveal how on earth engineers are trying to fix them!

    Then moving on to THURSDAY yet another brand new series for your viewing pleasure! Sewermen is on Spike at 9pm. This series follows workers at United Utilities, one of the UK's biggest water companies, as they work to keep the country's vital sewer systems running free.

    Here’s this weekend & next week’s top picks:

    First up TONIGHT it’s The Graham Norton Show at 10.35pm on BBC One. But wait… no Graham?! Jack Whitehall steps in tonight & his guests are Gwendoline Christie & Luke Evans. The always superb Paloma Faith will be performing her new single.

    Moving on to SATURDAY we have the FA Cup Final on BBC One. Coverage starts at 3.55pm (5pm KO). Watford will be hoping to cause an upset & beat favourites Manchester City. You never know! 

    Then on SUNDAY on Channel 4 at 9pm don’t miss a brand new series – The Ranganation. Romesh hosts a topical comedy show, in which a diverse group - including Romesh's Mum!! - are invited to share their thoughts on the state of modern Britain. We’re all really looking forward to this one.

    On Monday at 8.30pm on BBC One Panorama investigates the £600 million industry producing the UK’s biggest food export – Salmon.

    Then on Tuesday don’t miss the new series of Heathrow: Britain’s Busiest Airport. Going behind the scenes at the London airport & now in its 5th series. That’s on BBC Two at 8.30pm.

    24 Hours in A&E is on Wednesday at 9pm. Forty-year-old Tania is rushed to St George's with life-threatening injuries, having been knocked over while crossing a road. Tune in to Channel 4 – don’t miss it!

    It’s a HUGE weekend of sport up & down the country keeping our freelancers busy including:

    Boxing in Stevenage
    The Horse Racing in Newbury
    Rugby in Newcastle
    & the French Open Tennis

  • Another busy week we’ve had here at TOVS Towers! Here is this week’s TOVS TV Times

    First up TONIGHT is Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back on Channel 4 at 8.30pm. With the help of assistant Mark Silcox & some daring hidden camera investigations, the comedian campaigns on behalf of viewers who have been wronged by big corporations, caught out by small print & hoodwinked by fraudsters.

    Next up is Have I Got News For You on BBC One at 9pm. Comedian Janey Godley & journalist and author Tim Shipman bolster the efforts of regular team captains Ian & Paul on the satirical current affairs quiz.

    Then at 10.35pm on BBC One it’s the always fantastic Graham Norton Show! Chris Hemsworth & Paul Rudd chat about new Marvel blockbuster Avengers: End Game. Oscar-winner Julianne Moore discusses her acclaimed drama Gloria Bell. Brits breakthrough-act Tom Walker performs Just You and I. What a line up this week!

    Then on SATURDAY it’s a brand new series – In for a Penny. Stephen Mulhern hosts a game show which takes place in public locations around the UK. He invites passers-by to take part in a series of unusual challenges. The first episode comes from Cardiff. That’s on ITV at 7.30pm.

    Be sure not to miss the final of All Together Now on BBC One at 7.05pm. Rob Beckett hosts as the 10 finalists return to battle it out for the £50,000, and the title of champion. Contestants include Full-time mum Nicola, trainee doctor Aron & performers Southern Flavor, who aim to keep the vibe alive with another upbeat number. But who is going to win?!

    SUNDAY it’s What Would Your Do? at 7pm on ITV. Jason Manford asks how well we really know our kids, by challenging parents to guess what their children will do in a variety of entertaining situations. We all love this brilliant show!

    & if all of that wasn’t enough on MONDAY on Channel 4 at 8.30pm it’s Travel Man: 48 Hours in Athens. Richard Ayoade returns with the offbeat tourism show and is joined in the first edition by comedy actress and writer Dawn French, with the pair spending two days in the Greek capital.

    As ever this WEEKEND is a busy one for sports. Our freelancers are being kept nice busy up & down the country working on…

  • Available on Netflix: The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann

    A detailed look of the disappearance of 3-year-old Madeleine McCann who vanished from the seaside resort of Praia de Luz in Portugal, while on holiday with her family. It was a disappearance that reverberated around the world as the Portuguese police together with Scotland Yard mobilised a major investigation which would go on to become the most high-profile missing child case in British history.
