Lots of brilliant stuff coming up on the tellybox. Don't miss out on...

First Night of the Proms TONIGHT on BBC Two from 8:30pm. At London's Royal Albert Hall, the new season launches with a feast for the eyes and ears in the world premiere of Five Telegrams, with stunning digital projections by 59 Productions marking the centenary of the end of the First World War.

Over on Channel 4 the new series of 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown is on at 9pm. As part of a celebration of 100 years of women's suffrage, host Jimmy Carr is nudged to one side as Canadian comedian Katherine Ryan hosts an all-female edition of the words-and-numbers quiz.

SATURDAY night sees the return of The Voice Kids on ITV on 8pm. Emma Willis returns with the junior version of the singing talent contest, giving youngsters between the ages of seven and 14 a chance to achieve stardom. The Voice UK's returns as one of the three coaches. We thought the last series was great & we’re really looking forward to this year’s competition!

The Women’s Wimbledon Final takes place on SATURDAY from 1.15pm on BBC One & it’s the Men’s Wimbledon Final on SUNDAY from 1pm on BBC Two.

Finishing off the weekend, it’s The FIFA Football World Cup Final from 3pm on BBC & ITV. What a fantastic & unpredictable tournament it’s been this year – we’ve loved every second of it! – Safe journey to all our freelancers returning home next week.

  • Happiest of FRIDAYS to you all! Which can only mean one thing… it's time for this week’s TOVS TV Times!

First up TONIGHT is the latest episode of The Crystal Maze at 9pm on Channel 4.
Richard Ayoade hosts the game show, inviting veteran broadcaster Richard Madeley & comedian Joe Wilkinson amongst others to take his golden hand and tackle a number of physical, skill, mystery and mental challenges.

After that it’s The Last Leg at 10pm on Channel 4.
Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker are joined by comedian and actor Harry Shearer for a comic review of the significant moments of the past seven days. We’re hoping Harry throws in some Simpson’s voices somewhere during the show!

The World Cup returns this SATURDAY & SUNDAY after a down day on Friday (we didn’t know what to do with ourselves!). Our picks are France vs Argentina on BBC One from 3pm Saturday & Spain vs Russia from 3pm on ITV Sunday. Places in the Quarter Finals are up for grabs.

MONDAY sees the start of this year’s Wimbledon Tennis Finals. From 11am on BBC One Sue Barker presents live coverage of the opening day's play at the All England Club, as this year's championships get under way in the men's and ladies' singles.

You shouldn’t miss the brilliant Inside the American Embassy on Channel 4 at 10pm. This episode follows consular staff as President Trump's controversial travel ban comes into force. The executive order halted all refugee admissions and temporarily barred people from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the USA.

As always our freelancers are keeping busy up & down the country (& sometimes even further afield!) with…

    Athletics in Birmingham
The Open de France golf in… France!

  • Here is this week’s TOVS TV Times

Up TONIGHT - a brand new series of The Crystal Maze: Celebrity Special at 9pm on ITV. Maze Master Richard Ayoade guides Olympic legends Kelly Holmes and Greg Rutherford, grime MC Big Narstie, actress Jorgie Porter and internet superstar Alfie Deyes through the Aztec, Medieval, Industrial and Futuristic zones. We can’t wait!

At the same time the fantastic Cruising with Jane McDonald is over on Channel 5. The presenter takes on Australia and New Zealand, beginning her adventures in Sydney, where she experiences the highlights on an open top bus tour. Another new series!

SATURDAY is the Trooping of the Colour live on BBC One from 10.30am. After Harry and Meghan’s splendid if – by royal standards anyway – unorthodox wedding, it’s time for a traditional and formal event that the Windsors are very familiar with: the spectacle and pageantry that mark the Queen’s official birthday.

Finally on SUNDAY some of our freelancers are at Old Trafford, Manchester for Soccer Aid for one of the biggest fundraising events in sport.

The biennial match, which has run since 2006, sees an England team take on the Rest of the World, with both squads comprised of a mixture of celebrities and footballing and sporting greats, all in the name of UNICEF children’s charity. The full match and build up will be broadcast live from 6.30pm on ITV.
