PROFILE

Over the years as a Sound Engineer Harry has worked on some of the biggest international sports, entertainment shows and reality TV events, learning invaluable skills to progress his career. In 2026 Harry left his full-time Sound Engineer role at NEP to venture into the world of freelancing. Since joining NEP in 2022, he mainly worked as a Sound Assistant, whilst also learning to Guarantee, whenever possible. This helped Harry to understand how what is done in the field translates back to the compound and gave him the ability to follow signal flow during diagnostics properly.

WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

NEP Group – Sound Engineer
2022-2026:

Building The Flypack for Love Island: All Stars
Towards the end of 2025, I took on the solo challenge of building the full audio and comms side of the Flypack for Love Island, before it was shipped to South Africa (where I then assisted in the rig). This consisted of building multiple networks for all the kit, including the mixing consoles, comms panels, monitoring equipment, and a vast number of other pieces of kit. It was a huge learning opportunity, allowing me to test my skills learnt over the last few years.

Communications Systems – Telex & RTB in truck and flypack configurations
Rigging and operating comms panels (analogue & dante), then configuring them using IPedit and AZedit to build a functioning comms system. I also understand how to reprogram radios and base stations, as well as how to assemble and build these systems in the field.

Calrec Desks – Understanding of mixing consoles and their frames
I have experience in building/configuring Calrec Artimis, Summa, and Brio frames/consoles. I also understand the routing within these systems and how they are combined with comms & vision. In addition to this, I have a lot of experience in reality mixing on these desks.

Dante Certification – Level 1 & 2
I have completed my Dante level 1 & 2 courses, and have a good understanding of how to use the software when it comes to both routing and configuration of equipment.

Rigging & Operating equipment in the field
For the most part at NEP I was rigging and operating equipment in the field. This includes both the analogue and digital sides. Some examples are: Comms panels, commentary boxes, fx microphones, basic PA systems, radio mic/IEM racks, Bolero systems, RTB systems, and a range of other things you find in most live sport or reality shows.
