James Battersby

After seven years of working with Televideo in a staff position, James made the leap into the freelance world. During his time with Televideo he worked as a sound assistant & progressed to sound supervisor/guarantee over the last few years.

He has supervised a range of jobs including weekly Championship Rugby League live on Premier Sports, BBL Basketball & Netball for Sky as well as Premiership Rugby Union coverage for ITV 4. In most of the above situations he was on his own in the truck serving as sound supervisor/guarantee & comms engineer all in one. He also mixed the British Superbikes on Eurosport for the last few years.

James has thousands of man hours working in arenas, stadiums & race circuits around the world as a sound assistant. He has set up commentary positions, press areas, pitch mics, PA feeds & worked in busy pit-lanes. Used to working to tight schedules & fault finding when installing the relevant kit required for these positions, he believes that the key to being a good sound assistant is providing the highest level of customer service to the client.

Being asked back to work for the same companies over & over again already speaks volumes about James’ experience as well as his ability to throw himself into new situations.
